I found a new blogger, Launderlife, (she's not new, but I just found her) who had a list of 99 Things about her. I thought that would be a fun, light-hearted Friday post.Check out her post.
99 Things About Me (Everything that I have accomplished is in bold)
- Started your own blog
- Slept under the stars - plenty of times as a kid
- Played in a band - I was never in a real band, like a rock band or anything. But I was in band in high school. I started out playing the clarinet and then quickly realized I sucked and switched to percussion. I know I know I'm a band geek.
- Visited Hawaii - in middle school, but I'd love to go back!
- Watched a meteor shower
- Given more than you can afford to charity - I give to charity but I don't think I could say I give more than I can afford.
- Been to Disney World - we used to go every year in December. My bday, my bro's bday, and my parents' anniversay are all in Dec, not to mention Christmas.
- Climbed a mountain
- Held a praying mantis
- Sang a solo
- Bungee jumped - don't see this happening any time soon :)
- Visited Paris - I wish!
- Watched a lightning storm - one of my favorite things to do.
- Taught yourself an art from scratch
- Adopted a child - No, I'm open to it though. My husband and I have two kids from Malawi that we sponsor though. I love them and love being able to sponsor them. We actually met them while we were there. I remember saying if I care so much about these kids, how much more will I love my own kids.
- Had food poisoning
- Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty - went a year ago and went as far up as allowed but they opened up the very top the week after we left.
- Grown your own vegetables - I would love to
- Seen the Mona Lisa in France
- Slept on an overnight train
- Had a pillow fight
- Hitch-hiked - My fam moved to a new city freshman year in High School but my bro and I wanted to go to our old town for a school dance. On our way there our car broke down in Dayton and my bro had the bright idea to hitch hike for help.
- Taken a sick day when you’re not ill - I've had to take personal days for personal reasons other than being sick. But I've never been one to ditch just for fun.
- Built a snow fort
- Held a lamb
- Gone skinny dipping - in high school
- Run a Marathon - maybe one day...maybe lol
- Ridden in a gondola in Venice
- Seen a total eclipse
- Watched a sunrise or sunset - seen plenty but the ones that stood out to me were in Hawaii and Africa.
- Hit a home run - haha nope. I can't even swing the bat :)
- Been on a cruise - Bahamas and Mexico
- Seen Niagara Falls in person
- Visited the birthplace of your ancestors - I'm such a mix, I don't even have a clue where I would go
- Seen an Amish community
- Taught yourself a new language - I know a little spanish. I taught myself braille and a little sign language. Learning some basic sign came in handy when my brother met a girl who is deaf. Now they're married. I hope to actually take a class soon.
- Had enough money to be truly satisfied - i don't really know how to respond to this. I'm not rich by any means, but shouldn't I be satisfied regardless of how much money I have?
- Seen the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person
- Gone rock climbing
- Seen Michelangelo’s David
- Sung karaoke - not that anyone enjoyed it lol
- Seen Old Faithful geyser erupt
- Bought a stranger a meal at a restaurant
- Visited Africa - one of the best times in my life. We went to Malawi. I will always hold Malawi in my heart. Hopefully one day I'll go back, maybe bring my children there.

- Stood in Times Square - my hubby and I went last year for our anniversary. He surprised me. I didn't know we were going there until we were at the airport. That was such a fun trip. We're both foodies and NY has some amazing food!
- Toured the Everglades
- Been fired from a job - I was let go as a dental assistant, not because I did anything wrong, but because they hired me thinking they were going to bring on another dentist but they never did so they no longer needed me. The dentist retired a couple months later.
- Seen the Changing of the Guards in London - We went to London during a LONG layover on the way to Africa. We got to see the guards and the Palace but not the changing of the guards. We were literally running all over London in order to see as much as possible in a very short amount of time.

- Killed and prepared an animal for eating - unfortunately I can say yes to this. In Africa, we went to a market and bought a bunch of food, including a live chicken, and brought everything back to a family in a village. I did not personally kill the chicken. The little boy in the family did. Half way through the chicken got away and ran around with it's head half off....I'm serious, I wanted to throw up. But then we ate it with the family.....
